PMTCAA History
PMTC alumni maintain their ties to the institution in many ways. They connect with their classes, the PMTC Alumni Association. Alumni of all ages come together through the network of regional alumni associations across the country and around the world, or they meet and reconnect through the various affiliated groups organized by gender, ethnicity or particular interest. PMTC's thriving alumni communities provide a wide range of opportunities for socializing, networking and community service, and contribute significantly to the rich alumni experience that defines PMTC.
In 2007, after acknowledging that there was not an
official PMTC Alumni Association, a group of Ex-Apprentices came together to
have a meeting in Queens, New York to share their fondness for the Port
Mourant Training Centre and a deep commitment to seeing the institution
continue to be at the pinnacle of hope and possibilities for its current and
future Apprentices. Thus, PMTC Alumni Association (PMTCAA) was officially
launched.
In 2009 PMTCAA witnessed its first reunion dinner and dance
(All Batches and Staff). The association was formally registered with the
State of New Jersey as a Nonprofit Corporation and officially open for
business.
